Two fun weeks of Piano Duets, Jazz Piano, and Art!
Piano Camp is a great opportunity for young pianists to focus on their piano and musicianship skills while at the same time making new friends!
Conservatory faculty will teach private and small group lessons to piano campers. Students will have the pleasure of playing ensemble repertoire for more than one pianist at one piano. At the beginning of each week, students will be assigned ensemble partners depending on their grade and level of advancement and appropriate repertoire will be selected for them to learn. Campers will also enjoy specialty classes such as musicianship, art, jazz piano (week 1), composition (week 2). We are excited to be partnering for the second summer with Heather Barros and Art Collaborations: http://artcollaborations.net. The campers will enjoy a special visual art experience along with their piano classes. A mid-morning break time will allow the campers to socialize and eat the lunch that they have brought with them. On the first day of camp, your child will be asked to bring one polished solo piece that he or she has already been working on during this past year. Memorization is optional but they should bring the music with them. The students will perform their solo pieces for each other Monday morning. Campers will also have the opportunity to play for one another in an informal performance class, a master class with Westminster Choir College faculty, and in the final camp recital. |
